SOUTHBANK CENTRE

Governors

We are looking for two new Governors to join the Board of Southbank Centre.

Southbank Centre is one of the world's leading arts centres, located on a 21 acre site on the south bank of the Thames in Lambeth, central London.  We welcome more than three million visitors to our site each year, who come to enjoy our excellent programme covering music, literature, performance and visual arts, and our learning and participation work.  In June 2007 we unveiled a major transformation of the site with the reopening of the magnificently refurbished Royal Festival Hall.  We are home to a growing range of commercial activities on our site, eleven restaurants, three shops and the London Eye all making an important financial contribution to our work.

You will share our passion for Southbank Centre's activities and have experience of working at a high level in a complex organisation.  The specific skills areas that we are seeking to add to the Board are education, outreach (particularly via digital media), and business experience in the creative industries.

We meet six times a year and in addition have several Board committees to review particular aspects of our activities.  The post is unpaid but you are of course invited to attend the very best cultural events that London has to offer.
