Alexandre Tharaudpiano

This remarkable young French artist made waves in 2001 with a brilliant recording of Rameau's keyboard works on a modern piano. Today he highlights the connection between French Baroque music and the 20th century by interspersing the movements of Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin with pieces by Couperin himself. Chopin spent much of his life in France and made a tremendous impact on the country's piano music; his baroque-influenced 24 Preludes complete the evening.
