As part of a continuing relationship with Southbank Centre, Ivan Fischer returns to Royal Festival Hall with his outstanding Budapest Festival Orchestra. This lyrical Viennese early 20th-century programme presents Mahler's poignant song cycle based on Chinese poetry and Schoenberg's haunting orchestral tone poem; music full of lush harmonies and delicate textures.
