Royal Festival Hall
Grigory Sokolov, piano
Wednesday 29 April 2009, 7.30pm
Programme to be announced.
Grigory Sokolovpiano
The heir to such legendary artists as Emil Gilels and Sviatoslav Richter, Sokolov is a phenomenal artist, considered by some
to be today's greatest living pianist. His pianism transforms the instrument into a force of nature; he is capable of
the most delicate filigree detail at one extreme, and overpowering strength and magnitude at the other.
'A
recital by Grigory Sokolov is like a vision of a lost age of Russian pianism' (Guardian).
