Kirill Gerstein piano
Young Russian pianist Kirill Gerstein won the 2001 Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv and was named a Carnegie Hall Rising Star in 2005-06. His programme includes dramatic contrasts of emotional darkness and light, with Bach and Schoenberg set against one of Beethoven's most genial sonatas; the programme culminates with Liszt in both angelic and demoniac adventures.
'A sovereign virtuosity' (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung).
