Competition, Martin Helmchen from Germany is among the fastest-rising young pianists on the scene, counting Mitsuko Uchida
and Vladimir Ashkenazy among his mentors. He has chosen a serious and powerful programme for this concert, ranging from Bach's
astonishing E minor Partita to the demanding and ecstatic works of Olivier Messiaen.
