Cookies

This page contains information on what 'cookies' are and the cookies used by southbankcentre.co.uk

'Cookies' are small text files that are stored by the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Safari) on your computer or mobile phone. Websites are able to read and write these files, allowing them store things such as personalisation details or user preferences. You can think of cookies as providing a "memory" for the website, enabling it to recognise a user and respond appropriately. Each web domain can only access cookies stored by that specific web domain, meaning that only the southbankcentre servers can access the cookies set by the southbankcentre.co.uk domains. Most web pages contain elements from multiple web domains. Below is a list of the cookies we use on the site.

s_sess

SESSxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (example: SESS8c5063b500b30772a46b464a586ae91e)

Its purpose
This cookie sets a unique session key in our content management system Drupal. This cookie contains no real data.  The value corresponds to a record on Drupal that stores the customer's session data.
This cookie links to data in  our ticketing system  SessionKey, firstname + lastname, and email address. Other data accessible in the Drupal database via the cookie session ID number (but not in the cookie itself) include Packages status (x of y performances added to basket, with y-x still needed to be added).

Its purpose
This cookie is used to provide access to membership pages where the button would change from 'Book Now - Members Only' to 'Book Now' provided access to the ticketing info . Whilst this cookie influences the appearance of the button, the actual availability of tickets is controlled by passing a member’s session key into our booking system, so this cookie cannot be used as a 'short cut' to access membership priorities.
