London Sinfonietta 2007/08

The London Sinfonietta's new season mixes classics by great composers of the 20th century with brand new works written specially for the ensemble, offering a unique chance to explore new music with 'the world's finest contemporary music ensemble' (BBC Music magazine 2006).

In 2007/08 the ensemble takes a leading role in Southbank Centre's festivals Luigi Nono: Fragments of Venice and From the Canyons to the Stars:The Music of Olivier Messiaen, which includes a performance of Gerard Grisey's Les espaces acoustiques and the UK premiere of Luigi Nono's Prometeo in the Royal Festival Hall.

Other season highlights include world premieres of new commissions by Simon Holt, Colin Matthews and Thomas Ades.
