SOUTHBANK CENTRE

Richard Goode Series

Richard Goode

As part of a new series of Artists in Residence, Southbank Centre invites world-renowned pianist Richard Goode into residence during the 2007/08 season. Goode, often described as the quintessential ‘musician’s musician’, has programmed a series of events in which he appears in multiple guises, from the most intimate to the most public. We see him not simply as a pianist, but as a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, presenter, teacher and inspirer. This exceptional venture is complemented by a new web-based link from the autumn of 2007, which will allow our audience new forms of contact with one of our Artists in Residence.

As part of his role as Associate Artist, Richard Goode examines the different roles of a musician: soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, presenter and teacher. Listen to a personal interview with Meurig Bowen in which he discusses his thoughts on his residency and the artists he will be working with throughout the year.
