The Painting of Modern Life

The Painting of Modern Life is an exhibition that examines the use and translation of photographic imagery in contemporary painting. Over 100 paintings chart the international evolution of this approach over the last 45 years and includes major photo-inspired work from the early 1960s by artists such as Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol. This exhibition is curated by The Hayward Director Ralph Rugoff and runs until Sunday 30 December.
'This is the rare show that can sustain
an argument' (Daily Telegraph).
'This is a show that stimulates mind and eye' (Observer).
