The Sixteen 2008/09

Choral group The Sixteen, Associate Artists at Southbank Centre, present
four concerts throughout the 2008/09 season. In October, the group perform a wide-ranging programme of music dedicated to
the Virign Mary, taking the audience on a musical and spiritual journey charting the course of Marian music over five centuries.
In December, enjoy an evening of carols from the 15th and 16th centuries, and in March hear an evening of music celebrating
the British composers Henry Purcell and James MacMillan. In May, The Sixteen celebrate their 30th anniversary in a programme
including Handel's Dixit Dominus. The Sixteen also play an important part in Southbank Centre's new vocal series,
International Voices.
