Jeppe Hein: Appearing Rooms

The work of Danish artist Jeppe Hein (born 1974) often combines sculpture with architecture and technology to playfully solicit the viewer's direct participation. Hein's aquatic sculpture ‘Appearing Rooms’ was originally commissioned for the garden of the Villa Manin, Italy.

‘Appearing Rooms’ was first installed at Southbank Centre from 8 June - 16 September 2007 and returned from 1 July - 28 September 2008, 1 July - 26 September 2009 and again during the summers of 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Appearing Rooms will be closed every Monday except for Bank Holidays this is so Scheduled Maintenance works can be carried out.

During very windy conditions, Appearing Rooms will be turned off.

Returning from the end of May 2016.
Outside Queen Elizabeth Hall and free for all to enjoy.
