Brass on the Bridges

To launch Southbank Centre and the BBC's celebration of light music, join us as we kick off the weekend in style with brass players taking over the indoor and outdoor spaces of Royal Festival Hall.

We're searching for brass players of all ages and levels of ability to join members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra to kick off the Light Fantastic Music Festival at Southbank Centre on Friday 24 June.

Whatever you play and however long you've been playing, you're invited to join hundreds of musicians to fill up Southbank Centre's outdoor spaces, and perform a sparkling new fanfare by composer Anne Dudley.

Everyone who plays a brass instrument is welcome to take part - here's what you need to do

1. Sign up by emailing with your name, instrument and age.
2. You can download the music below. Simply choose your key, whether you'd like to try the easy, medium or hard part, download and print! However please follow step 1 first - you must register through the BBC Learning email address to take part.
3. Turn up at The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, at 6.15pm on Friday 24 June to register and hear local brass bands kick off the celebrations.
4. Have a go yourself! After an hour's workshop, you'll perform the world premiere of this piece at 7.30pm on the outside Terraces.

Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
