Ludwig Van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.1
Arnold Schoenberg: Pelléas et Mélisande
Southbank Centre is proud to announce that we are running a live relay of this sold out concert in The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall. Experience this momentous concert in an informal setting. Admission free.
Daniel Barenboim returns to Southbank Centre to perform all Beethoven's Piano Concertos, after his sold-out series of Beethoven Piano Sonatas in 2008. Beethoven's First Piano Concerto is the lightest and liveliest of his early works for piano and orchestra, full of wit and energy. The concerto is paired with Schoenberg's first completed orchestral work, written for an unusually large orchestra and featuring a wide range of orchestral textures and colours.
Level 5 Function Room at 6.30pm - Ways In pre-concert talk - An introduction for beginners to classcial music to the Beethoven Piano Concerto cycle. Admission free.
