George Frideric Handel: Israel in Egypt - oratorio

Goldsmiths Choral Union presents Handel's oratorio 'Israel in Egypt' with a young solo cast and authentic instrumental forces under conductor Brian Wright.

More than in any other of his oratorios, Handel concentrates on the power of the chorus to project the biblical drama.

The most striking moments are vivid descriptions of plague and pestilence, and the parting of the Red Sea.

Goldsmiths Choral Union performs the work in its standard two-part version.
