Guilty Pleasures with Ian Shaw and Gill Manly

Purcell Room

Following their sell-out success in April last year, twice BBC Jazz Award winner Ian Shaw and Ronnie Scott's favourite diva, Gill Manly, return to Southbank Centre. Friends for many years, this exclusive vocal pairing celebrates the life and music of Nina Simone and Ray Charles, and all their favourite singers in between. Ian Shaw's album Somewhere Towards Love has had astonishing reviews and Gill Manly's release on Linn Records, With A Song In My Heart, has won her a legion of fans. Manly's dramatic, gospel-tinged delivery and Shaw's soulful singing and piano playing ensure this is a show not to miss.

'He has few rivals.' (The Times)

'Manly is a singer who exquisitely balances clarity of line and emotional nuance.' (Jazzwise)
