Tomorrow’s Warriors present an afternoon of performances and workshops combining jazz, storytelling and performance poetry. The day’s events are led by band leaders Gary Crosby OBE and New Orleans trumpet player Abram Wilson.
1pm - 2pm: Mango Spice - a musical journey to the Caribbean with popular folk songs and ring games.
2pm - 3pm: Swing and Sing - a vocal improvisation workshop using rhythm and words to conjure up a world of scat and swing.
3pm - 4pm: If Music Be the Food of Love - one of the UK’s youngest jazz bands, the Teenie Warriors, debut new material and perform with young budding poets.
4pm - 5pm: Jazzoetry - a performance poetry workshop with Tomorrow’s Warriors Youth Jazz Orchestra.
5pm - 6pm: Mass Jazz Jam - open to all ages and abilities.
Those who wish to participate in Mango Spice and Jazzoetry need to sign up by coming to the registration desk at The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall one hour before each workshop, as numbers are limited.
