Purcell Room
Chris Patten with Ha Jin and Zhu Wen
Monday 19 May 2008, 7pm
As the last British governor of Hong Kong during the handover to China, Chris Patten has been a key figure in China's recent history. Interviewing two of the country's most exciting new voices, he contrasts his own experiences with those of the next generation. Ha Jin is the author of The Crazed, an inter-generational novel about Communism, whilst Zhu Wen's short stories illuminate the new China and its identity crisis.
