FAMILY GAMELAN TASTER SESSIONS

Gamelan Room, Spirit Level, Royal Festival Hall

17 April 2010, 11.00am & 2.00pm

Come and experience the beautiful Javanese gamelan percussion orchestra at Southbank Centre. Regarded as one instrument played by lots of people, the gamelan generates rich, sonorous and mesmerising sounds. Playing the gamelan is both a rewarding musical and social experience. It can inspire self-confidence, improve co-ordination and listening skills, encourage interaction and team-building and be a great chance to try something new. Fun for all the family!

No previous musical experience is necessary, just a willingness to sit on the floor, take off your shoes and have fun.

Suitable for children aged 6 and above. Please note, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets: £8.00 & £4.00 concessions

To book: Please telephone the ticket office on 0844 875 0073 or see: www.southbankcentre.co.uk/search/results/gamelan for more information about booking online.
