Pull out all the stops

Installed in 1954, the Royal Festival Hall organ is one of the most important in Britain. Designed by Ralph Downes and constructed by Harrison & Harrison, the 7,866 pipe instrument forms the centrepiece of the Royal Festival Hall auditorium.

The organ was lovingly restored and reinstalled between 2011 and 2013 with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and over 60,000 people.

Find out about the History of the Organ and the Restoration, meet our Organ Curator and Scholar or pull out all the stops and help us maintain the organ by Sponsoring a Pipe as an unusual gift this Christmas!
