Southbank Centre offers a fantastic location for filming and photography with views of the London Eye, Westminster and along the River Thames. In addition there are a wide variety of spaces falling within our jurisdiction from Brutalist concrete to 1950s design and river views.
We look after the Queen’s Walk, which runs alongside the River Thames, from the London Eye to the National Theatre, and the areas between this section of Queen’s Walk and Belvedere Road. This includes Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Hayward Gallery and surrounding walkways. See map below.
In the Loop, Last Chance Harvey, The Boat that Rocked, Primeval, BBC Sound and Spooks are among some of the films and television programmes that have been filmed recently at Southbank Centre.
All initial enquiries should be made by completing our Filming and Photography Application Form (see below) which should be returned via email to email@example.com.
Before filming or photoshoots can be confirmed, clients must supply the following information:
· Copy of public liability insurance; generally this should be to £10m, but for small shoots £5m may be acceptable.
· A full risk assessment for the shoot.
· You will be asked to sign a location hire agreement, through which you are agreeing to our terms and conditions of site use.
· If you are a new customer to Southbank Centre you will be asked to complete a New Customer Creation Form. Note that the full location fee must be paid before you arrive on site for the shoot.
The process of assessing your application and completing/obtaining the relevant paperwork can take a number of days. You are therefore advised to submit your enquiry with as much notice as possible.
When returning the form via email, in the subject field please reference the date (dd/mm/yy) you would like to film/photograph on site and attach your Public Liability Insurance and risk assessment.
