Enter Le Pain Quotidien anywhere in the world and you can expect to be greeted first with the smell of fresh bread. Large round, hand-shaped loaves of artisan rye, whole wheat and nut breads are stacked on an iron bread rack behind the counter along with crusty baguettes, brioches and croissants, and Le Pain Quotidien’s own range of traditional jams, spreads (including Belgian chocolate praline spread), tea and coffee, all carefully sourced from hand picked suppliers.
Each Le Pain Quotidien branch shares common characteristics - the long communal table, oiled wood counters and ochre stained walls, with products beautifully displayed in wicker baskets on white marble counters. Each store is busy with customers enjoying coffee and tea, served in Le Pain Quotidien’s trademark French bowls, a fresh salad or tartine (open sandwich) or perhaps some homemade granola. The atmosphere is one of warmth and simplicity.
