Vex Red

Part of Robert Smith’s Meltdown

Hear electronic rockers Vex Red as they unveil new music at this intimate gig for Robert Smith’s Meltdown, with support from Douglas Dare.

Electronic rockers Vex Red first emerged in 2001, recording their debut album Start with a Strong and Persistent Desire (Virgin/EMI) with producer Ross Robinson.

The album achieved critical success and the band intensively toured the world for over two years, establishing their mighty sound.

After a 12-year hiatus, Vex Red regrouped in 2015 with a hunger to create music together again. With work in progress on a much-anticipated album, the band have been teasing audiences with new material during two recent UK tours.

The Independent recently described their sound as one of ‘throbbing bass, squealing guitars, trippy samples and spectral vocals’ that makes them ‘seem far more relevant now than the majority of guitar music that ushered in the 21st century’.
