In April 2018 we celebrated the rich and varied history of our 1960s buildings, offering encounters with its past while looking towards its future.
Over three days, the halls and foyers of Queen Elizabeth Hall showcased music, dance and literature linked to the site's 50-year history, as we invited back members of our artistic family whose performances have been intrinsic to Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room.
From urban dance performances to a celebration of five decades of poetry, classical Indian music to contemporary dance, there were many opportunities to watch and be a part of the dynamic history of these venues, with free events across the weekend.
This weekend complemented our Concrete Dreams Exhibition, a unique experience that led you through the radical heritage of the 1960s buildings by bringing to life the story of their art and architecture. Find out more
