The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by an exceptional array of artists for its new season at Southbank Centre.
The Orchestra’s Principal Conductor, Charles Dutoit, directs a series of concerts devoted to the repertoire for which he is renowned, including masterpieces by Ravel and Debussy.
Dutoit is joined by the great mezzo-soprano Susan Graham for Les Nuit d’été by Berlioz, and by celebrated pianist Stephen Hough for the exotic ‘Egyptian’ Piano Concerto by Saint-Saëns.
Internationally-acclaimed classical guitarist John Williams will perform two guitar concertos, including the exquisite Concierto d’Aranjuez by Rodrigo, and legendary cellist Steven Isserlis offers his unique interpretation of Elgar’s deeply moving Cello Concerto.
And be sure to join us for a particularly special occasion: John Lill’s 70th birthday concert, at which he will perform Rachmaninov’s ravishing Third Piano Concerto.
