See Michael Nyman in the first major event of his 70th birthday year.

In this concert he has chosen to feature the UK premieres of his first violin concerto, the revised version of the saxophone concerto Where the Bee Dances and the second symphony – one of a [projected] cycle of 19 symphonies.

The RPO are conducted by Josep Vicent who has worked extensively with Michael Nyman on several projects in recent years, including the recording of Symphony No.2.

The concert will be introduced by Petroc Trelawny.
