Jacques Offenbach: Fantasio - comic opera in 3 acts (UK premiere)
(concert performance in French with English surtitles)

For this concert, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Opera Rara delve into opera's box of lost masterpieces.

One of Offenbach's most romantic, daring and innovative operas, this marks a crucial step on his way towards The Tales of Hoffmann. The performance features a star cast including Sarah Connolly and is conducted by OAE Principal Artist Sir Mark Elder.

Presented in association with Opera Rara.

Marlis Petersen and Hélène Guilmette have withdrawn from this performance and the role of Elsbeth will now be sung by Brenda Rae.
