A performance by Sergio Tiempo including an opportunity to vote for which Chopin Études he plays.
Described by The Sunday Times as 'a pianist of electrifying brilliance', Sergio Tiempo was born in Venezuela and is a former protégé of Martha Argerich. His powerful individuality has drawn rave reviews from the press worldwide.
Tiempo's programme tonight is inspired by his recent new fatherhood. Each of the pieces represents the personality of a different member of his family, including Villa Lobos' 'A Prole Do Bebe' for his little daughter.
But there's another family member - the audience. In an inclusive gesture, Tiempo has decided to ask you, the audience, to decide which six Chopin Etudes you would like him to play. Voting details to be announced.
'He may well be the most dazzling and spontaneous pianist of his generation. Every bar sparks with a fearless, vivid and audacious life.' (Gramophone)
