Art by Post brings free poetry and visual arts activities to the people who are most isolated by the current social distancing measures.
The activities are designed for older adults living with dementia and other chronic health conditions.
If you sign up to take part, you’ll receive Art by Post creative booklets which arrive through your letterbox or straight to your email inbox. Through a series of exercises, you’ll be inspired to be more artistic and feed your imagination.
The Art by Post booklets are inspired by our art collection and artistic programme here at Southbank Centre.
We hope using the booklets will spark your imagination, keep your mind active and help you stay connected to others.
We’d love to see what you come up with. Once we reopen our venues, we hope to create an exhibition of work created by some of the people taking part in Art by Post. If you send us your artwork and poetry, we can cover the cost of postage.
You can sign up, refer someone else or request to receive packs as a group.
For example, you might want to refer someone if you’re a health or social care practitioner or community organiser. Or you might be related to, friends with or caring for someone who would like to receive Art by Post. Or you might want to receive packs on behalf of a community organisation or care home.
If you are signing up on behalf of a family member or friend, you can choose to receive Art by Post booklets too and get involved yourself.
The Art by Post booklets have been designed for those living with dementia. However, they might also suit people who are self isolating and shielding due to chronic health conditions and disabilities. Before you sign up please check that Art by Post is right for you.
Sign up to receive Art by Post for yourself or a friend / family member / someone you support by completing one of these two forms.
This project has been very popular and we expect to have given away all our printed copies of the first booklet in the next few days.
If you or the person you are referring has access to the internet, or support from someone who could download and print their booklet for them, please consider opting to receive booklets via email.
This will help us to save printed booklets for those who cannot access them digitally.
If you would like to receive a pack of Art by Post booklets (for example, if you are a charity or care home) please complete the form below.
