Southbank Centre and Forced Entertainment are looking for performers between 8 and 14 years old to create a production of That Night Follows Day, written by Tim Etchells, artistic director of Forced Entertainment.
That Night Follows Day is a comical and poignant text for performance that explores the ways in which the adult world shapes and defines that of young people. It offers up the full range of advice, facts, white lies and excuses children hear from adults.
The piece is performed six times at Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room on the week of 11 – 15 December 2018.
We are looking for 16 young people of all abilities and backgrounds to come and work with us. Some experience of performing would be good but is not 100% necessary – if this is something that appeals to you, please apply.
This is a really exciting opportunity to work with a professional theatre company and perform at Southbank Centre; however, this project requires a big time commitment.
Rehearsals are held over four months between September and December, involving weekends and half-term, so it is essential that you can commit to the timetable below. Please only sign up for the audition if you can commit to the rehearsal timetable.
If you have any questions about the project or the audition process, or would like to discuss any additional access needs (including bursaries to cover travel expenses during the project), please email [email protected] or call 020 7960 4237.
Deadline for applications is 10am Monday 2 July. Applicants will be notified of their scheduled audition workshop by Tuesday 3 July.
This application is now closed.
We are holding audition workshops on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July 2018. The audition is a one-hour workshop in a small group and involves some games and reading. You do not need to be available on both open audition days - please specify your preferred audition day on the application form when prompted.
Second-round auditions are held on the evening of Wednesday 11 or Thursday 12 July 2018. Those invited to the second audition will be informed by Monday 9 July.
