Friday, September 29, 2017 - 12:19

Looking for a good reason to see in 2018 with us at our Vintage New Year’s Eve Party? No problem, here’s nine of them.

Be entertained into the small hours

With over seven hours of entertainment slap bang on the side of the Thames, there’s no danger of getting bored before (or after) midnight.

Follow in famous footsteps

You'll be celebrating New Year's Eve in a venue that's been graced some of the biggest names in entertainment, such as Frank Sinatra, Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh.

Your hair and make-up sorted

Don’t have time to do your hair and makeup before heading out? Or just fancy trying something new? Let our team of experts do it for you.

A choice of five vintage nightclubs

So your best friend loves 1920s jazz, your other half enjoys a bit of 1950s rock and roll, but you all want to be singing along to some 1980s and 1990s classics as you see in the new year. Don’t worry, we’ve got it all.

Take a dance tutorial

Don’t know your locomotion from your lindy-hop? Got two left feet? No problem. Get yourself up to scratch with a free dance class, then hit the dance floor with confidence.

Break out the vintage dress-up

At last, an excuse to use the rollers, flapper dress or tail coats you rescued from your nan’s or the suede creepers you liberated from the charity shop. Live the vibe of the night by dressing up in your finest vintage attire.

Enjoy a range of live music

Whichever era you choose to immerse yourself we’ve some real live music treats, from Alex Mendham & His Orchestra’s evocative performances of Gershwin and Cole Porter, to the Jive Romeros’ rock’n’roll and DJ Anna Greenwood’s disco delights.

Get your game on

Amidst the 1980s and 1990s pop and dance of Bar Bonkers, you can play Indeedy Musical Bingo with DJ Jess Indeedy where, instead of calling out numbers, they spin more hits. Throw in DJ Helix’ dancing grannies and you can see how the bar gets its name.

A pretty special view

Enjoy exclusive views of London’s world-famous fireworks from our Riverside Terrace, and once they’re done, head straight back into the warmth of Royal Festival Hall to continue the fun.

On 31 December, our Vintage New Year’s Eve Party takes over five floors of the Royal Festival Hall with music for all tastes as well as stylish dining, a hair and beauty salon, photo studios and much more. Tickets for the event are now on general sale.
