Lose yourself in our Winter Market
Get ready to be spoilt for choice at our Winter Market, featuring 30 Nordic-inspired wooden chalets filled with top traders from across London, the UK and beyond. Each stall brings a unique winter spin to the market, with a feast of food on offer including gourmet burgers, Asian street food, buttermilk fried chicken, vegan street food specials, and traditional favourites like bratwurst and hearty pies. You can also enjoy mulled wine and quality handmade crafts while taking in the sights and sounds of the city.
Sit in a Finnish Rooftop Sauna
Yes, you read that right. We have a Finnish Sauna. On our rooftop. As part of our year-long Nordic Matters programme, celebrating Nordic culture, our Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Terrace hosts a beautifully crafted sauna, enabling you to get all steamy (literally, not figuratively) while enjoying panoramic views over the River Thames.
Combining beautiful Nordic design with a bespoke artistic commission, the Finnish Rooftop Sauna is a striking collaboration with Aalto University (Helsinki) MA students: Pedro Pablo Garcia Alcazar, Markus Holste, Monica Romagnoli and Miki Sordi, and Finnish sculpture Jaakko Pernu. It is open until 27 December
Get cosy at our rooftop bar
If stripping down for a sauna is a stretch too far for you, then you can always sit it out on the sidelines in our rooftop bar. The Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden bar is back for winter time, ready to serve you Prosecco, warming winter drinks, snacks and - available on pre-order - special Nordic canapes. So rather than throw water on the coals, simply snuggle into one of our blankets to warm-up and enjoy the sights of the city at night.
Enjoy an Alpine Dining Experience
With a specially created 30 seat alpine lodge, and a collection of private dining ‘snow globes’, Jimmy Garcia’s latest pop-up food experience certainly won’t go unnoticed. Sited on the riverfront, towards Waterloo Bridge, the Dining Experience boasts a carefully crafted cosy menu featuring fondue, charcuterie, mulled wine and more, with a 'grab and go' hatch selling raclette burgers and dogs, croque monsieurs and more.
Visit the Bar Under the Bridge
Don’t ever wanna feel like you did that day? Then come down to a place you’ll love, come all the way, to the Bar Under the Bridge. Much more than just an excuse for tenuous Red Hot Chili Peppers references, this pop-up bar beneath Hungerford Bridge is run by Hoplocker, who were voted Best Bar/Pub for Waterloo and Southwark in 2016 by Time Out Love London. With a tap range boasting an incredible array of beers, specially sourced from Nordic breweries, it’s easy to see why. Joining them beneath the railway are northern street food heroes ParmStar who offer up the perfect beer food, the Parmo; fried chicken fillet, silky smooth béchamel sauce and melted cheese on top.
Dig decadent drinks with Beltane and Pop
If the cold weather sets in and you fancy a warming winter drink, then you may as well go all out and treat yourself with Beltane and Pop. Serving from their joyous Asquith van parked right beside the river Thames, the luxury hot drink specialists are offering some classic festive favourites, such as mulled wine, spiced cider and hot whisky. Prefer something a little sweeter? Get stuck into their incredible range of flavoured hot chocolate.
See in the New Year in vintage style
The mother of all pop-ups, our Vintage New Year’s Eve Party returns to see in 2018. This seasonal nightclub spectacular takes over our Royal Festival Hall, with five floors of immersive entertainment. With five nightclubs offering music for any taste, from the 1920s through to the 1990s, along with cabaret, stylish dining, a hair and beauty salon, photo studios, and a perfect view of London’s midnight fireworks, it’s an incredible night, not to be missed.
