Playlist: Nile Rodgers’ Meltdown

Wednesday, May 8, 2019 - 15:22

From the moment we announced Nile Rodgers as curator of the 26th edition of Meltdown, everything was pointing towards the CHIC-est ever edition of our annual summer music festival and it certainly didn't disappoint. From the sounds of Studio 54 and his own disco pioneers, via the embodiment of 1980s in Eurythmics Songbook to modern musical marvels including Thundercat and Jungle, and true world stars in Anitta and Songhoy Blues, Nile Rodgers duly delivered an epic ten days of memorable music across Southbank Centre.

If you were lucky enough to join us for any of those gigs, you can relive the sounds of summer 2019 now. And if you weren't, well, just seek solace in great music. Grab your headphones, turn up the volume and lose yourself all over again.

Nile Rodgers' Meltdown took place at Southbank Centre, with live gigs across our venues, 3 - 10 August 2019.

The show must go on(line)

Sadly, for everyone’s safety, our venues are currently closed. But you can still get your Southbank Centre fix online. We will continue to share inspiring and thought-provoking arts stories through our website and social channels.

As a charity, we rely on ticket sales for a huge chunk of our income. But now they’ve stopped. And it's a huge worry to us, and the people we work with. We all need the escape of art and culture; it can inspire and unite us. So please – if you can afford to – consider a donation to the Southbank Centre today, to help us be there for you in the future.
