My Mixtape: JoyCut

Friday, June 8, 2018 - 15:50

Comprised of Pasquale Pezzillo (contents, voice, guitar, electronics), Gaël Califano (industrial percussion) and Giannicola Maccarinelli (tribal drum) JoyCut are a Bologna-based band who deliver music made for the future, creating their sound from a mass of electronics, orchestral breathings, and percussion that spans from tribal to industrial.

The Italian trio design atmospheric layers of sound with a dark edge, a massive beat, and a twitching melancholy and inventiveness that makes them hypnotic in their power and imagination. Ahead of their performance at Robert Smith’s Meltdown the band put together this twelve-track playlist of atmospheric favourites, To Wish Impossible Things_, which they explain in their own unique style, below.
