Emmanuelle Lainé

25 Oct – 24 Dec 2018

A free HENI Project Space exhibition that showcased Emmanuelle Lainé's site-specific installation ''Learn the Rules Like a Pro, So You Can Break Them Like an Artist!''.

Lainé’s complex installations transform the spaces they occupy into unsettling perceptual environments. For this exhibition, the artist brought together familiar objects, organic materials and life-sized, floor-to-ceiling imagery to create a disorienting scene that explored industry, display and the contemporary workplace.

Lainé is a recipient of the 2018 Artist Commission Program for the Montblanc Cultural Foundation’s Art Collection, which enabled the creation of her site-specific exhibition.

Emmanuelle Lainé (born in 1973, Paris) lives between Brussels and Marseille. Her work has recently been exhibited in solo shows at the Palais de Tokyo (2017) and Bétonsalon, Paris (2017), Villa Arson, Nice (2016), MOT International Gallery, Brussels (2015), IFAL, Mexico City (2015), C-o-m-p-o-s-i-t-e, Brussels (2014) and the Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard, Paris (2014), among others.

This exhibition was also supported by Fluxus Art Projects.
