Hayward Gallery

Hayward Gallery is a world-renowned contemporary art gallery and a landmark of brutalist architecture.

Current free exhibition: DRAG: Self-portraits and Body Politics, HENI Project Space, now until 14 Oct.

about the exhibition

The year-round exhibition programme focuses on presenting a wide range of adventurous and influential artists from across the world.

Coming soon: Space Shifters, 26 Sep 2018 – 6 Jan 2019: a major thematic exhibition featuring artworks that alter or disrupt our sense of space.

About our renovation project

Between Sep 2015 and Jan 2018, the gallery was closed for a two-year refurbishment project, the focus of which was the replacement of its 66 iconic pyramid rooflights.

This project was made possible through the generous support of Arts Council England, the Heritage Lottery Fund, trusts and foundations and over 50,000 individuals and Southbank Centre friends supporting our Let The Light In fundraising campaign.

Hayward Gallery & Cafe opening times

11am – 7pm every day except Tuesdays when the gallery is closed.
Late night opening on Thursdays until 9pm.
