Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Dutoit: Stravinsky

Part of Classical Season

Charles Dutoit, Artistic Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, returns for a show-stopping end to the orchestra’s Southbank Centre series.

Stravinsky’s Scherzo Fantastique provides an energetic opening.

It contrasts with Brahms’ Violin Concerto, performed here by Kyung Wha Chung (‘one of the world’s starriest violinists’ The Telegraph).

The series concludes with Stravinsky’s The Firebird, a dramatic musical illustration of the Russian fairy tale.
