What You Need to Know: Steve Reich

Part of International Organ Series

Explore two masterworks from Steve Reich, which were inspired by human rituals. We look at Drumming in the context of the communal music-making of West Africa, and Tehillim in the Hebrew cantillations of the Jewish faith.

Speakers/performers include Sara Mohr-Pietsch, broadcaster and presenter of BBC Radio 3's The Choir, Music Matters, Hear & Now and Open Ear;
Micaela Haslam, founder and musical director of Synergy Vocals; Owen Gunnell, a leading percussionist and educator; and Keith Potter, music journalist and musicologist.

Hear Drumming and Tehillim live
On Friday 5 May, take a seat as Colin Currie Group and Synergy Vocals perform these pieces.
