Friday Tonic: Lena Anderssen

Part of Friday Tonic

Faroese-Canadian singer-songwriter Lena Anderssen brings her haunting music to Southbank Centre’s Friday Tonic. Described as ‘hauntingly honest, poetically pensive, and radiantly real’, Anderssen’s music comes straight from the core of her being, from personal stories of longing, heartache and hope.

She has roots both in British Columbia and in the Faroe Islands, and her suitcase full of stories is garnering her awards and fans in both of her homelands and beyond. Her new LP Eagle In The Sky won Album of the Year at the 2017 Faroese Music Awards – with Lena and her record taking home three other awards, including Female Singer of the Year.

On stage, Lena is known for the intense and intimate delivery of her personal poetry and catchy songs. Her performance leaves you with no doubt that this singer-songwriter is the real deal.
