Friday Lunch: Barbara Marion

Part of Friday Lunch

Spend your lunchtime with singer songwriter Barbara Marion and her band.

An acoustic balladeer, Barbara sits on the fence between Americana, 40s and 50s lounge music, along with jazz. The result is a classic sound that captures influences ranging from Kirsty MacCall to Julie London and the folk balladry of Luke Kelly.

Barbara's career has seen her sing with Celtic folk group Rún at Celtic Connections, Glastonbury and the Union Chapel; on the soundtrack to Channel 4’s War Oratorio; with Bellowhead in Southbank Centre’s production of The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner and perform at the Edinburgh and Dublin Fringe Festivals.

Earlier this year she released her debut EP, Terra Firma which was produced by BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Ben Walker.

Barbara Marion is joined by Dave Matthews on guitar, Jerome Billeter on bass, Victor Hechavarria on trumpet and Roger Nunn on drums.
