Gamelan Youth Course Summer 2017

If you’re aged 11 – 18, come and explore ensemble music-making on our Javanese gamelan.

Over 10 weeks, learn to play the gongs, drums and metallophones that make up this beautiful percussion ensemble from Indonesia.

This course is led by expert tutor Andy Channing and is run in partnership with London’s Centre for Young Musicians. The classes bring together members of the public and young students from CYM’s Saturday music school, accompanied by their chaperone.

Fun and relaxed, the sessions require no previous musical experience – just a willingness to take off your shoes, sit on the floor and have fun. Chairs can be provided for those less able to sit on the floor and wheelchairs can also be accommodated.

If you have any further questions regarding the gamelan course please email [email protected] or telephone 020 7921 0767.
