London Sinfonietta: Beacons

Part of Classical music

Be the first to hear new music in an eclectic evening showcasing work from some of today’s leading composers.

The night features the world premiere of a London Sinfonietta commission from Charlotte Bray, following her intimate Sinfonietta Short On the Other Shore.

Rebecca Saunders’ RPS award-winning Skin is a must-hear with its sumptuous textural patterns, while Unsuk Chin’s pantomime-inspired cosmigimmicks embraces the genre’s mixture of ritual and nonsense for a captivating finish. Emma Wilde's El blanco día for solo clarinet is dedicated to the memory of Robert Clark.

The brilliant contemporary music conductor Peter Rundel also makes his debut conducting the ensemble.
