City of London Sinfonia - Hero Worship: Beethoven, Napoleon and Revolution

Part of Classical Season 2017/18

Heroes define their age – and by any measure Beethoven is a hero and with his Eroica Symphony he altered the course of music itself for ever.

As his hearing faded, Beethoven poured his anguish into his music; Brett Dean’s Testament is a glimpse at the thoughts of a man who stepped back from the brink for his music.
