Micro Cinema Theatre

Part of London International Mime Festival

Explore puppetry, theatre and cinema in this London International Mime Festival workshop. Gavin Glover leads this three-day workshop, where you can explore puppets and the human body using video and CCTV cameras, projectors and more.

Discover a new type of cinema by combining your discoveries with the more traditional forms of performance, to create Micro Cinema Theatre.

During this practical three-day workshop, you use a multitude of objects and materials to construct environment to film, and improvise performances.

Play with the scale, focus, light, sound and music to delve into 2- and 3-dimensional worlds, unlocking tiny details that are usually lost in a theatre space. Figure out what materials work best for the story you want to tell, and understand what objects have more meaning than others.

This course is suitable for professional puppeteers, actors, musicians, filmmakers, film animations, writers and directors.

A co-founder of internationally famous puppet company Faulty Optic, Gavin Glover is an established independent puppeteer, maker, teacher and consultant to theatre and opera companies worldwide.
