Part of Series Polari

Celebrate writing by LGBT women in this collaborative event between Polari and WOW

Following a sell-out collaboration in 2015, Polari returns to WOW, as a platform for emerging and established narratives of Queer hearts and lives across literature and spoken word.

Paula Varjack headlines with her autobiographical book, Letters I Never Sent To You, exploring connection and disconnection with places, people and the spaces in which we encounter them. From Washington to London, Accra, Paris and onwards to Berlin, Letters I Never Sent To You tells stories of a life split between places, identities, languages, nationalities, sexualities. It also explores stories of running away from and into yourself, and love lost and found again.

Also featuring this evening are the celebrated literary worlds of Wollie Boehm aka author Sam Skyborne and Karen McLeod and Cerys Evans.

Further contributions to be announced.

Polari is curated and hosted by acclaimed author and journalist, Paul Burston.

’Polari is a unique mix of voices that provokes the strongest responses from its audience – love, laughter, tears, but most of all, thought’ (Val McDermid)

’Never dull, always different – laughter, tears, and one of the warmest audiences I’ve ever read in front of. (Mind you, someone had been messing with the thermostat).’ (Jonathan Harvey)
