Rebecca Solnit: The Mother of All Questions

Part of London Literature Festival

Award-winning author Rebecca Solnit is a potent force for social change, shining a light on the inequalities of our times.

From inspiring the term 'mansplaining', to books which transcend generic boundaries, Rebecca Solnit's restless imagination and keen sense of injustice combine in writing of breathtaking vision and razor sharp humour, finding fans as diverse as Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Lena Dunham.

Following on from the success of Men Explain Things to Me comes a new collection of essays, The Mother of All Questions, in which Rebecca Solnit opens up a feminism for all of us: one that doesn't stigmatise women's lives, whether they include spouses and children or not; that brings empathy to the silences in men's lives as well as the silencing of women's lives; celebrates the ways feminism has shifted in recent years to reclaim rape jokes, revise canons; and inspires us to rethink our everyday lives.

In an exclusive London event, Rebecca Solnit reads from her new collection, and discusses how to reimagine feminism for the future.
