Guilty until proven innocent

Part of WOW – Women of the World

The path to justice for victims of rape or sexual assault is not an easy one anywhere in the world. We look at what needs to change.

This session outlines what’s not working in the UK criminal justice system, before looking at other models in countries including Sweden and Iceland, to consider what kind of systems would serve women better.

Speakers include Pavan Amara, founder of My Body Back; Harriet Wistrich, lawyer and founder of Centre for Women’s Justice; Guðrún Jónsdóttir, Icelandic feminist activist and spokeswoman for Stigamót; and Halla Gunnarsdóttir, head of policy and partnerships, Women’s Equality Party
