Music of Today: Irvine Arditti

Part of Classical Season

Join us for an evening celebrating the 65th birthday of Irvine Arditti, an incomparable pioneer of contemporary music who has stretched the boundaries of the violin and premiered works by hundreds of composers throughout his career.

This concert features Arditti in an all-Italian context, including the UK premiere of a scintillating Violin Concerto by Aureliano Cattaneo, a composer with a 'feel for dramatic pace, fine aesthetic sensibilities and plenty to say' (Financial Times). Salvatore Sciarrino's Sei Capricci is a modern counterpart to Paganini's devilishly difficult études.
