Grief- A Work in Progress

Part of Belief and Beyond Belief

Immerse yourself in this intimate and thought-provoking performance that explores grief through the neuropsychological responses triggered by the death of a loved one.

From the moment a patient is given a terminal diagnosis, until their death and beyond, bereaved caregivers suffer a barrage of physical, cognitive and psychological grief reactions. This project aims to show how these grief reactions are perceived by those who experience it and those who observe it, bringing to light conversations expected to take place privately or at best within the confines of bereavement groups.

Grief – A Work in Progress is a publication, video and performance piece by artist Zoe Papadopoulou, in collaboration with Dr Kirsten Smith from Oxford University, Deborah Coughlin founding director of all female performance company Gaggle and Dr Caitlin Hitchcock from the Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit at Cambridge University.
