What You Need to Know: Beethoven's Late String Quartets

Get an insight into Beethoven’s last major compositions, unappreciated in their time but now celebrated across the world as masterpieces.

Experts Laura Tunbridge and David Wyn-Jones take an in-depth look at these works alongside a special appearance from the Dante Quartet with playwright Clare Norburn and actor David Timson. The Dante Quartet perform excerpts from their thrilling concert-drama Beethoven's Quartet Journey, in which actor David Timson brings to life the character of Beethoven, intimately exploring both the man and the music through this unique dramatised concert approach. Discover what you need to know about these iconic quartets in a memorable and informative study day.
